As far as herd immunity - I will ask the experts in the q and a. of course our biggest concern is for the campuses where the percentage of vaccinated individuals is low.

The White House has asked college presidents to support an initiative - https://www.whitehouse.gov/covidcollegechallenge/ to try to get as many students, faculty and staff immunized for COVID as soon as possible. So far - there are hundreds of college presidents who have already signed on. Encourage your college president and administration to sign this pledge!

One thing that hurts our campus is that we have a governor who has signed a law restricting any business, organization or institution from receiving state funds if they place any kind of covid protection in place. Thus, many in our state feel that they do not need the vaccine, thus, many of our student do not feel they need to get it either.

The Higher Education COVID-19 Community of Practice (HECCOP) is an inclusive and connected community of personnel and students from institutions of higher education working together to share innovative solutions, develop expertise, and solve problems aimed at reducing SARS-CoV-2 transmission on college campuses and in their surrounding communities.

HECCOP's strategies include webinars, a discussion forum, a catalog of campus policies and programs and a student ambassador toolkit.
